Damage to baby from amnio needle?

My baby was born with several deep dimples on her behind. I had an amnio done. When it was done, the doctor guided the needle in with help of the ultrasound, but then took the ultrasound off while he was trying to get the amniotic fluid to flow. He had a lot of trouble trying to get it to flow. The needle was in perhaps 10 minutes without the ultrasound. Finally it did flow. What do you think - could the needle have been in my baby and that is why the fluid didn't flow? Do you think the dimples are the result of the needle? Any way to tell definitely?
