Dog terrible wound near his neck. It's really a sad thing to see him as none of us know how to treat him.?

This poor dog which isnt even mine - he's a very loyal dog that we call him as Friend. he was hurt long ago when i noticed a small puncture near his neck (human's carotid's area) everytime i see his wound it gets bigger and worse! i am really scared that he will die and i dunno what to do at all!!! it actually makes me feel so bad and i almost cry everytime i see him! PLEASE I BEG YAHOO PEOPLE TO HELP THIS POOR DOG!!!!!!! I dont want him to die in this way!
