How do you repair a door lock on a ford explorer?

I have looked through the hanes manual for my 2000 explorer and cannot locate the issue. A steel bar is just hanging from the lock embly so I think it came loose from somewhere. Its on the drivers side. I cant find a good diagram or instruction on fixing the door lock. If anyone can help that would be great!!!
