Why is my pet duck doing this? :'(?

I seriously doubt that a duck can get close enough to a gosling, Geese are so protective. Likely a snapping turtle has eaten the goslings. Please do not catch a wild animal as it is unlawful to have wildlife. Leave nature as you found it, please.
