If I want to get involved in special operations...?

I know that if you are 20, you can sign an 18x contract, which gives you a guaranteed shot at the SFQC. Another way is to sign on as Infantry with a Ranger option, then go to jump school, Ranger qualifications, and finally Ranger training. Once a Ranger, you can then apply for the SFQC.
